A new research clearly shows that air pollution weakens immune systems. Still there is no report on curbing the worst problem of today
A new research clearly shows that air pollution weakens immune systems. Still there is no report showing when will the air around us will be clean in metro cities.
People might wish the new research can also be seen by the decision makers in governance. This research links air pollution to respiratory infections which diminished immune systems of many older citizens.
Thanks to the Nature Medicine, which published the research finding out that inhaled particles accumulated in immune cells in lymph nodes associated with the lungs. This in result weakens the cells’ resistance to infections belonging to the respiratory system.
Earlier, they used to consider the weakened immune systems in older people is related to part of aging.
But thank God, the COVID-19 pandemic has also done some good for people of our generation. It drove home the point related to the vulnerability of aged people, with those over the age of 75 suffering a death rate which is eighty percent higher than younger individuals.
In fact, Flu and some other lung infections too disproportionately attack old people, also.
Believing the notion of the researchers, they looked at tissue from eighty four dead donors who were aged eleven to ninety three. And yes, all of them were non-smokers.
