The Press Information Bureau (PIB) has issued a warning against fraudulent websites inviting applications for the ‘International Sports Award 2025’ and ‘Indian Sports Award 2025’ using the Government of India’s logo.
Through its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, PIB Fact Check clarified that these awards have no association with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. It urged citizens to remain cautious and avoid sharing personal information on such fake platforms.
“These awards are not associated with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports,” PIB Fact Check stated in its alert, flagging the misuse of the government’s emblem by the fraudulent website. It advised users to verify any such claims through official government channels before applying for any awards or schemes.
The warning is part of PIB’s ongoing efforts to combat misinformation and cyber fraud targeting the public. Authorities have repeatedly stressed the importance of checking official websites or announcements to confirm the authenticity of government-related information.
Citizens should follow the #PIBFactCheck initiative on social media for verified updates and to report suspicious links or messages that misuse government names or logos.
