PIB Fact Check said the Railway Board has clarified that the letter is fake and was not issued by the Board. It urged people not to share or rely on unverified documents.
The fake communication could create confusion among railway employees by presenting incorrect information about bonus payments.
Official-looking documents involving salaries, bonuses, recruitment and other financial benefits can mislead employees and the public if circulated without verification.
PIB Fact Check advised people to verify government-related claims through official sources before believing or sharing them.
Employees should rely on confirmed announcements from the Railway Board rather than forwarded documents or messages circulating on social media.
The agency encouraged people to report suspicious content related to the Central Government through its official PIB Fact Check channels.
People can report such content to PIB Fact Check through WhatsApp at +91 8799711259 or by email at factcheck@pib.gov.in.
The clarification comes as the fabricated Railway Board letter circulates online, underlining the need to verify official-looking communications through authenticated government sources before acting on them.
