The altered version inserted fabricated audio and subtitles to misrepresent the Prime Minister’s remarks.

The authentic address, sourced from an official government platform, contains no reference to any military confrontation or loss of aircraft.

It instead discusses unrelated domestic and policy matters.

Investigators traced the misleading content to accounts known for amplifying disinformation during periods of diplomatic friction between India and Pakistan.

The agency warned that such material forms part of a broader pattern of coordinated cross-border misinformation campaigns designed to inflame public sentiment and distort facts.

This episode mirrors earlier incidents in 2025, when fabricated claims alleged the destruction of Indian Rafale fighter jets and the neutralisation of the S-400 air defence system.

Fact-checking authorities debunked those assertions after verifying that no such incidents occurred.

The government reiterated the necessity of verifying content through credible and official sources before accepting sensational claims.

It emphasised that AI-generated deepfakes pose a serious challenge to information integrity and national security discourse.
