The Press Information Bureau (PIB) Fact Check unit has alerted citizens about a fraudulent video circulating on social media that falsely portrays Prime Minister Narendra Modi endorsing an investment platform.
The manipulated clip claims that individuals can earn up to ₹3.5 lakh per month by investing ₹22,000.
Authorities have categorically rejected these claims and confirmed that the video has been generated using artificial intelligence technology.

PIB Fact Check stated that the Government of India has not approved, promoted, or endorsed any such investment platform or financial scheme.
Officials urged the public to remain cautious and avoid trusting advertisements or videos that promise unrealistic financial returns. They stressed that fraudsters frequently use advanced technology and public figures’ identities to deceive unsuspecting investors.
PIB Fact Check urged citizens to avoid clicking on suspicious links circulating on social media platforms, messaging applications, and unknown websites.
The government also advised people not to share personal details, banking information, passwords, or financial credentials with unverified sources.
Cybercriminals can misuse such information to carry out financial fraud.
PIB Fact Check encouraged people to verify investment-related information through official government channels and trusted financial institutions before making any financial commitment.
Authorities emphasised that careful verification can help individuals avoid scams and protect their savings from fraudulent schemes.
The government has also appealed to citizens to play an active role in combating misinformation by reporting suspicious posts, videos, and online advertisements to PIB Fact Check.
Officials also said public vigilance remains one of the most effective tools in preventing the spread of fraudulent content and protecting people from financial scams.
