Fake Facebook Video Falsely Links EAM Jaishankar To ₹80,000 Daily Investment Scheme

A digitally altered video circulating on Facebook falsely portrays External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar endorsing an investment project that allegedly promises returns of ₹80,000 every day.

PIB Fact Check has identified the video as fake and warned users against believing the claim.

The fact-checking authority clarified that neither Jaishankar nor the Government of India has endorsed, authorised or promoted the investment project or platform featured in the manipulated video.

The claim therefore does not represent any official government-backed investment opportunity.

The video appears to use a fabricated endorsement to create an impression of government backing.

Such tactics can make fraudulent investment offers appear legitimate and encourage unsuspecting users to transfer money or disclose sensitive information.

Users Advised Against Suspicious Links

PIB Fact Check has urged people not to click on suspicious links associated with the purported investment scheme.

It has also advised users against sharing personal, financial or bank account information with unknown platforms or individuals.

Fraudsters frequently use the names, images and statements of prominent public figures to promote deceptive financial schemes.

Promises of unusually high or guaranteed returns can serve as warning signs of potential investment fraud.

The PIB Fact Check Unit was established to verify claims concerning the Government of India and counter misinformation through official sources.

The unit uses government records and technological tools, including video analysis, to assess suspicious digital content.

The latest warning highlights the need for users to independently verify investment claims before taking financial decisions.

People should rely on official government or regulatory sources rather than manipulated social media videos when assessing purported investment opportunities.
