After the makers of Spirit dropped an explosive audio teaser in five Indian languages, online troll networks began circulating misleading posts targeting actress Deepika Padukone.
One such fake social media profile, posing as the Bollywood star, shared a fabricated reaction to actor Prabhas’ first look from Spirit, falsely suggesting that Deepika was ‘sad’ yet found the teaser ‘wonderful’.
The viral post, which read, “I am sad but wonderful video Sandeep Reddy and happy birthday #Prabhas sir,” quickly gained traction online, leading to confusion among fans.
The message originated from an impersonator account, not from the actress herself.
The controversy emerged soon after director Sandeep Reddy Vanga released the first ‘sound story’ from Spirit in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam to mark Prabhas’ birthday.
For the uninitiated, Deepika Padukone initially joined Spirit but later exited the project, making way for actress Triptii Dimri.
While the official reason for her exit remains undisclosed, reports suggest that Vanga grew dissatisfied with her alleged demands, which reportedly included restricted shooting hours, high remuneration, and a share in the film’s profits.
The one-minute audio teaser features a conversation between a jailer and his assistant about an ex-cop held in custody.
The jailer instructs his assistant to treat the prisoner like any other inmate, searching and testing him, while the assistant urges restraint.
Sharing the teaser on X, Sandeep Reddy Vanga posted, “Happy Birthday Prabhas anna. Presenting a ‘SOUND-STORY’ in five Indian languages straight from the heart, for every fan who’s felt his (sic).”
The teaser also confirmed the film’s principal cast, featuring Prabhas, Triptii Dimri, Kanchana, Prakash Raj, and Vivek Oberoi, setting high expectations for Vanga’s much-anticipated project.
