‘Dak Seva Gifts’ Scam Exposed: PIB Fact Check Warns Against Fake India Post Offer

The PIB Fact Check has debunked a misleading social media claim about an alleged ‘Dak Seva Gifts’ scheme.

The agency confirmed that India Post has no association with any such lucky draw, reward programme or promotional offer.

The fraudulent messages use graphics resembling official India Post branding. They also circulate suspicious shortened links, including indoc4.cyou, to make the scheme appear legitimate.

Users are reportedly encouraged to click these links and share sensitive information.

The scam may seek details such as bank account information, one-time passwords (OTPs) and Aadhaar numbers.

Sharing such data can expose users to financial fraud and identity theft.

India Post has repeatedly cautioned the public about similar phishing attempts.

Fraudsters have previously circulated messages promising subsidies, quiz rewards and anniversary gifts in the name of the postal department.

The department has advised people to avoid clicking unsolicited links or responding to suspicious messages.

Users should also refrain from sharing banking credentials, OTPs, Aadhaar details or other personal information through unverified platforms.

The PIB Fact Check has urged citizens to report suspicious messages and claims for verification.

People should rely only on authorised India Post communication channels for information about genuine schemes and services.

The warning comes as phishing campaigns increasingly imitate government branding to create a false sense of credibility.

Users should carefully verify the source before opening unfamiliar links or providing personal information.
