Bollywood will see a fight at the box office between Vicky Kaushal and Ranbir Kapoor. On December 1, Animal and Sam Bahadur will be released in theaters. Vicky Kaushal and Ranbir Kapoor have been aggressively marketing their own flicks through a variety of media. Vicky Kaushal said that they both play for the same side when
Animal’s original August release date was rescheduled to December, whereas Sam Bahadur, directed by Meghna Gulzar, had its release date revealed considerably earlier.
Vicky Kaushal said, “When two opening batsmen come to the crease, playing for the same team, you won’t say that the two batsmen are clashing with each other; they are playing for a single team, so we are playing for Hindi cinema.” Vicky said, “While one player might hit fours and sixes, the other player will be at the crease and take ones and twos and maintain the strike.” When asked which movie would score a four and which would only receive a one or a two, Vicky responded with a simple “The audience will decide.”
Animal, which was helmed by Arjun Reddy and starred Triptii Dimri, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor in key parts, has Rashmika Mandanna and Ranbir Kapoor in the lead roles. An abusive father-son relationship—played by Anil Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor, respectively—is glimpsed in the teaser and only gets deeper and murkier throughout the movie.
