Will Vijay Sethupathi join Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayan?
Nitesh Tiwari is reportedly gearing up for an exciting addition to his upcoming project, Ramayan, with a star-studded cast. According to a report, the director has already secured Ranbir Kapoor to play Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravan, and is now eyeing Vijay Sethupathi for a significant role.
Speculations suggest that Vijay Sethupathi might portray the character of Vibhishana, Ravan’s brother, in the epic saga. Sources claim that Nitesh Tiwari recently discussed the script and vision with Vijay, who was reportedly impressed by the narration and visuals planned for the film. However, Vijay is yet to finalize his involvement as discussions on finances are still ongoing.
Additionally, there are rumors surrounding the rest of the cast, with Sunny Deol possibly portraying Hanuman and Lara Dutta taking on the role of Kaikeyi. However, Bobby Deol reportedly declined the role of Kumbhakaran.
The film, which is said to be produced by Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra, is aiming for a Diwali 2025 release. Although pre-production is allegedly underway, the project and its lead cast have not been officially announced by the makers yet.
In other news related to the rumored cast, Ranbir Kapoor, after his involvement in Animal, has been roped in for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s project Love and War, alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. The trio recently crossed paths during the consecration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
