The release of Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer ‘Udta Teer’ has been postponed, with the film now set to arrive in cinemas on October 23 instead of October 9.
The makers announced the change on Friday by releasing a new poster featuring the revised release date.
The shift intends to give the film a more favourable theatrical window and avoid entering a crowded release schedule with limited screen availability.
The new date will likely provide the film with greater room once ‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’ and ‘The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest’ complete their theatrical runs.
‘Udta Teer’ combines comedy with a patriotic storyline, with Suhail Nayyar reportedly playing the antagonist.
Ayushmann Khurrana stars as Bilal Ahmed, a Pakistani spy who loses his memory after reaching India and eventually begins to believe he belongs to the country.
Khurrana had earlier described the film’s unusual premise, calling it India’s first patriotic comedy in which he plays a Pakistani spy who loses his memory in India.
The actor said his character eventually fights for India, creating a situation where he remembers his patriotism but forgets which country he belongs to.
Khurrana has spoken about director Akash and the creative world created for the film.
With the revised schedule, ‘Udta Teer’ will now release in cinemas on October 23.
