The Vvaan: Force Of The Forest Box Office: Sidharth Malhotra, Tamannaah Film Opens With Rs 8 Crore

Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia’s The Vvaan: Force of the Forest opened to a promising response at the box office after releasing in theatres on Friday, September 25.

According to Sacnilk, the supernatural thriller earned Rs 8 crore net in India on its opening day, while its gross collection stood at around Rs 9.60 crore.

The film recorded an overall Hindi 2D occupancy of 28.25 per cent across 6,746 shows.

Night shows registered the highest occupancy at 41.46 per cent, followed by evening shows at 26.08 per cent. Afternoon and morning shows recorded 24 per cent and 12.23 per cent occupancy, respectively.

Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, known for Panchayat and Permanent Roommates, The Vvaan: Force of the Forest marks his Bollywood directorial debut.

The film combines Indian folklore, fantasy, supernatural elements and drama.

Sidharth plays Rishi, a city-bred man who travels to his ancestral village in Bihar with his wife Mamta, played by Tamannaah. He initially plans to sell his inherited land and return to the city. His plans, however, change after he discovers secrets surrounding a mysterious forbidden forest.

Villagers warn against entering the forest after sunset, but Rishi dismisses their concerns and becomes increasingly involved in its mystery. He later joins forces with Deepak, played by Sunil Grover, as the story unfolds through suspense and supernatural twists.

With a strong opening day, The Vvaan: Force of the Forest now heads into its first weekend, with its subsequent collections set to determine the film’s box-office trajectory.
