Vikrant Massey is currently basking in the glow of his career’s success, buoyed by the overwhelming response to his latest film, “12th Fail.” Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the movie has garnered acclaim from both critics and audiences alike. Building on this momentum, the actor has recently inked a deal for “The Sabarmati Report,” a new project produced by Ektaa Kapoor. Adding to the excitement, Vikrant delighted his fans by unveiling the film’s release date in a captivating video shared on his social media channels, just a month after the initial announcement.
On February 27, a video clip introducing fans to the world of Vikrant Massey’s upcoming film was released on social media by the creators of The Sabarmati Report and themselves. In the video, the actor portrays Samar Kumar, a Hindi journalist, who breaks the news on February 27, 2002, the day of the Godhra accident while seated in a studio.
“Today, we pay tribute to the 59 innocent individuals who perished in the Godhra train burning incident 22 years ago. Introducing “The Sabarmati Report,” which opens in theaters on May 3, 2024,” the caption for the image states.
The teaser for the video also highlights how Vikrant’s character is singled out for speaking Hindi but is later allowed to continue with the news. When he states that the Sabarmati Express fire incident was not an accident, the teaser’s most striking scene features real-life images of the incident and news clips flashing while Vikrant’s character has flashbacks. Tense music is playing in the background.
The text that appears at the end of the video says, “February 27, 2002.” Gujarat’s Godhra. A memorial to the 59 innocent people who perished in flames. Two official reports and numerous investigations later, The Sabarmati Report was released after 22 years.

Following the release of the video teaser, fans were obviously unable to contain their excitement as they showered praise in the comments section. “Vikrant bhai is back with another incredible performance,” wrote one fan. “Each of your movies is very informative,” wrote another. “Another feather to the cap, such a versatile performance,” exclaimed a third fan. “Will go watch this movie, only to see you act,” wrote another fan, clearly excited.
In addition to Vikrant Massey, which is directed by Ranjan Chandel, the movie will feature significant roles for Ridhi Dogra and Raashii Khanna.
