Opal Suchata Chuangsri from Thailand was crowned Miss World 2025 in a grand ceremony held in Hyderabad, Telangana.
This victory marks Thailand’s first-ever win at the Miss World pageant, beating 107 contestants from across the globe.
The reigning Miss World, Krystyna Pyszkova of the Czech Republic, formally passed on the crown to the new titleholder during the event.
Soon after her win, Opal spoke to the media about the values that underpin her professional and personal journey.
She emphasised confidence, determination, and compassion as the pillars of her success.
“Always believe in yourself. Stick to your core values,” she told reporters. “I’m here today because I held onto my purpose and believed in myself. Also, don’t forget to love yourself along the journey.”
Opal also acknowledged the challenges she faced along the way.
“It’s not always easy — it can be exhausting and discouraging at times. But if you never give up, you’ll eventually get to where you’re meant to be,” she added.
For the coronation ceremony, Opal wore an elegant white gown decorated with opal-like floral motifs, symbolising healing and strength, qualities she embodies as a role model to young women worldwide.
In the final round, Opal outperformed Hasset Dereje Admassu of Ethiopia, who was named the runner-up.
India’s hopes, represented by Nandini Gupta, were dashed early as she did not reach the Top 8 finalists.
The Miss World 2025 event marked the return of the pageant to India after 28 years.
Last year, Krystyna Pyszkova won the title, becoming the 71st Miss World, surpassing strong contenders from Lebanon, Trinidad and Tobago, and Botswana.
India has been a powerhouse in the pageant’s history, with six winners to date.
The last Indian Miss World was Manushi Chhillar, who won in 2017.
As the new Miss World, Opal Suchata Chuangsri is expected to advocate for important social causes throughout her reign.
Her message of grit, determination, and compassion is set to inspire millions globally, making her journey one defined not only by beauty but also by resilience and purpose.
