Sunny Deol’s Juhu Bungalow Will No Longer Be Auctioned: Bank Of Baroda

A day after initiating the process of auctioning a property owned by prominent Bollywood actor, Sunny Deol, the State-owned Bank of Baroda issued a corrigendum citing that they would no longer be going forward with the auction due to technical issues.

On Sunday, news broke that Deol’s Bungalow in Juhu will be auctioned on August 25, in an attempt to recover an outstanding amount of Rs 56 crore. The notification was put out by the bank through a newspaper where it announced the details of the unpaid loan.

According to the notice, Sunny Deol, who currently serves as the Member of Parliament for Gurdaspur, has been in default on a loan amounting to Rs 55.99 crore from the bank, along with accrued interest and penalties, since December 2022.

However, the bank has rectified its technical glitch by issuing another statement to clarify the misunderstanding. “Corrigendum to E-Auction Sale Notice dated 19.08.2023 published in The Times of India Mumbai Edition (Pg.3) dated 20.08.2023 with regards to Sale Notice in respect of Mr. Ajay Sing Deol Alias Mr. Sunny Deol Stands Withdrawn due to Technical Reasons for the below-mentioned Property: All That piece and parcel of land bearing Survey No. 41 Hissa No 5 (Pt) CTS No. 173 of Village Juhu Taluka Andheri Mumbai Suburban Dist, Admeasuring 599.44 Sq Mtrs underneath a structure known as Sunny Villa situated at Gandhigram Road Juhu Mumbai 400049. Bearing New Municipal assessment No. 00121047 situated in registration District and Sub-district of Mumbai Suburban,” read the statement.

Subsequently, Sunny’s spokesperson requested people to halt their speculations as the process of resolving the issue is under process.

Speaking of, the property that was under consideration, Sunny Villa, is situated on Gandhigram Road in the upscale Juhu area of the city. The bank had placed a reserve price of Rs 51.43 crore for the auction and also demanded interested buyers deposit Rs 5.14 crore.

Meanwhile, Deol’s recently released flick Gadar 2 has reportedly amassed a whopping amount of Rs 377.20 crore in India alone.
