In January this year, Athiya Shetty, daughter of actor Suniel Shetty, wed Indian cricketer KL Rahul. At Shetty’s farmhouse in Khandala, the couple chose a modest ceremony. Their close friends and family members were present when they exchanged vows. Athiya and KL Rahul have been relishing every moment of their new phase ever since. One of the most well-liked actors in the area, Suniel, recently gave his daughter Athiya some insightful counsel on happy relationships. He even ‘warned’ his son-in-law to stop being such a ‘good boy’.
The Hera Pheri actor recently counselled his daughter to have entire faith in her relationship during an interview with Mid-day. Additionally, he requested Athiya to stand by KL Rahul through his highs and lows. When asked what advise he would give Athiya, Suniel replied, “Be someone who trusts in your partner blindly. Have entire faith in him. Because he is an athlete, he will travel, and you won’t always be able to go along. Athletes have highs and lows much like actors do. They are at the end of the world while they are scoring.
Suniel was also asked if there was anything he would like to discuss with his son-in-law. Don’t be such a wonderful human being that we feel inferior to you, he answered. Be a good boy, but not so good that everyone thinks goodness is about them and not about you. He is the kind of kid he describes. You are blessed, not necessarily the other way around, I often tell Athiya. Athiya is undoubtedly a lovely child, but my wife, my mother, my in-law sisters, and my sister are all completely fixated on Rahul.
KL Rahul, however, recently came under fire after it was discovered that he was having fun at a London strip club. Shortly after his surgery, his video went viral. Doting wife Athiya was ready to show her support for him. She addressed the haters by posting an official statement on social media.
Suniel was last observed while working on Operation Fryday. He will next be featured in Hera Pheri 3, which also stars Sanjay Dutt, Paresh Rawal, and Akshay Kumar.
