Siddharth Anand opens up about Beshram Rang controversy
The film, Shah Rukh Khan’s Comeback, sparked controversy for a number of reasons long before it could break records at the box office. When the first song, Besharam Rang, was released, critics demanded a boycott. After a shot from the song showed Deepika Padukone in an orange monokini, the film and its makers received a lot of criticism. Despite numerous contradictory statements regarding the controversy, director Siddharth Anand has finally offered his first response.
The producers of Pathaan held a press conference following the film’s success, during which the lead actors, SRK, Deepika, and John Abraham, as well as the director, addressed the media and attempted to answer as many questions as possible. The group even discussed the film’s controversy and even the DP’s orange bikini at the event.

When Siddharth Anand recently appeared in an interview,he was questioned about the controversy surrounding bikinis. He stated, “We were not scared,” in response to the same for the first time. We were aware that our film did not contain anything objectionable. adding, “When we were in Spain, I picked that outfit haphazardly. We didn’t give it much thought. The variety was looking great. The water was blue, it was sunny, the grass was greener, and the orange colour looked good. We hoped that after watching it, the audience would realise that our intention was not incorrect.
Siddharth Anand proceeded to add, “Yet I can’t fault the crowd since they hadn’t watched the film till then. They were saying, “Achcha inhone ye kiya, wo kiya…” but the audience’s enthusiasm for seeing the movie when it came out was admirable. They disproved the boycott movement as a whole. And when you call for a boycott of a movie or a celebrity, you don’t realise how many people depend on that movie, especially if it works.
