Mr Kapoor was jokingly captioned “Shahid Kapoor on his way to thrash Elon Musk for his Blue tick” when a user on the microblogging platform shared a picture of him from a scene in his movie Kabir Singh.

The actor republished the meme and added his well-known line from the same Kabir Singh scene, in which he runs after a person touches his girlfriend, Kiara Advani. “Mere blue tick ko kisne touch kiya… Elon, tu wahi ruk main aaraha hu,” Shahid wrote. Numerous famous people, including Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Salman Khan, lost their verified blue ticks after Twitter removed blue mark icons from accounts that did not pay a subscription fee. Aside from Shahid, other famous people lost their verification badges, including Kajol, Akshay Kumar, Aia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit, Anushka Sharma, and Anil Kapoor.

In 2009, Twitter implemented the blue check mark system. The blue tick was viewed as a superficial point of interest.
