Shah Rukh Khan's security gets upgraded
According to police sources in Mumbai, security services in Maharashtra have increased star security cover of Shah Rukh Khan to the Y+ category due to recent “imminent and probable” threats against the actor. However, the sources would not specify what type of “threat” the actor is currently facing.
The sources claim that the Maharashtra State Intelligence Department (SID) instructed all police commissioners, district police, and special protection units (SPUs) in the state to provide “Y+ with an escort scale of security to Khan with immediate effect” in an official communication dated October 5.
The choice was made following a recent high-power committee meeting where threats and the actor’s safety were discussed, they claimed.
Khan will receive 11 security personnel in the Y+ category, including six commandos, four police officers, and a traffic control vehicle. Another police source added that the police officers would be stationed at his home Mannat. Up until the following high-level committee recommendation and review committee decision, the security cover will be provided on a payment basis.

Ayodhya-based seer Paramhans Acharya is said to have threatened the actor’s life after a dispute over the song Besharam Rang from his early-this-year release Pathaan.
Security was increased outside of the actor’s bungalow in August of this year as a result of protests against celebrities advertising online gaming apps, with the message being emphasized that such endorsements deceive and corrupt the younger generation.
After receiving threats following the release of his film My Name is Khan, his security was also boosted in 2010. Khan’s name also made headlines after Sameer Wankhede, the IRS officer and Mumbai zonal head of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), purportedly disclosed a WhatsApp discussion he had with Khan regarding the release of his son Aryan Khan. On October 3, 2021, an NCB raid on the Cordelia cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai resulted in the arrest of Aryan. After 25 days, bail was granted.
