Salim Khan Suffers Minimal Brain Hemorrhage, Under ICU Care

Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, one half of the iconic Salim-Javed duo, has suffered a minimal brain haemorrhage, his treating physician, Dr Jalil Parkar, confirmed. The doctor said the condition does not require surgery and that a decision on discharge will be taken once he feels better.

A Digital Subtraction Angiography was performed on Khan. He is currently on ventilator support and remains in the Intensive Care Unit. He was admitted on Tuesday at 8:30 am after being brought to the hospital by family doctor Sandeep Chopra.

Doctors said his blood pressure was high, and he was placed on a ventilator as a precautionary measure. His condition is now improving, though recovery is slow due to his advanced age.

Earlier, Dr Jalil Parkar had confirmed that Salim Khan was admitted to Lilavati Hospital under his supervision. Emergency care was initiated before he was shifted to the ICU on the first floor.

A team of specialists attended to him, including neurologist Dr Vinay Chavan, cardiologist Dr Ajit Menon, neurosurgeon Dr Nitin Dange and Dr Bineet Ahluwalia. The hospital has limited further details respecting the family’s request for privacy.

Khan’s elder son, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, along with daughters Alvira Khan Agnihotri and Arpita Khan, and actor Aayush Sharma, were seen visiting him at the hospital. Salman reportedly left a shoot in Madh Island to be by his father’s side.

According to reports, Salim Khan had complained of swelling before being admitted. Medical professionals continue to monitor his condition closely as he recovers under intensive care.
