Akshay Kumar has added a promotional twist to Saif Ali Khan’s birthday celebrations as anticipation grows around their upcoming film ‘Haiwaan’.
The actor shared a special video on Instagram on Sunday, using Saif’s birthday to promote the much-awaited project.
The clip shows Akshay sitting on a chair while lighting a candle placed on a cupcake. He then calls Saif his hero before extending his birthday wishes and ending the message with an unsettling laugh.
Akshay’s caption added another layer to the promotion, as he wished Saif well while warning him that ‘Haiwaan’ was on its way.
The upcoming film reunites Akshay and Saif after their previous appearance together in ‘Tashan’.
Released in 2008, ‘Tashan’ failed to perform strongly at the box office despite generating attention for its music.
With ‘Haiwaan’, the actors will now share the screen again under the direction of filmmaker Priyadarshan.
The recently released teaser uses silhouettes, shadows and brief visual glimpses to establish an eerie atmosphere.
The promotional footage points towards a darker narrative, with Saif seemingly portraying a visually impaired character.
The production began last year, and Akshay had earlier posted behind-the-scenes footage showing him interacting with Saif and Priyadarshan during filming.
Boman Irani, Saiyami Kher and Shriya Pilgaonkar form part of the film’s supporting cast.
Venkat K Narayana and Shailaja Desai Fenn have produced the project under the banners of KVN Productions and Thespian Films.
The makers have scheduled ‘Haiwaan’ for a theatrical release on September 11, 2026, positioning the film as one of the major Hindi releases of the year.
