RRR Dominates National Film Awards: Allu Arjun Bags Best Actor For ‘Pushpa’

NATIONAL FILM AWARD 2023: The 69th National Film Awards are currently being announced by the Central Government. Honoring achievements in the year 2021, the awards ceremony commenced at 5 pm on August 24th. Notably, acclaimed South Indian actor Allu Arjun has been granted the prestigious Best Actor Award, marking a historic moment as the first Telugu actor to receive this distinction. Additionally, SS Rajamouli’s film ‘RRR’ has garnered multiple accolades across various categories, further enhancing the film’s recognition.

‘RRR’ Triumphs

The song ‘Natu Natu…’ from the film ‘RRR’ has added to its laurels by clinching the Oscar Award. Meanwhile, the 69th National Film Awards announcement has brought forth a wave of recognition for the South Indian film industry. Notable wins include MM Keeravani securing the Best Music Director title for ‘RRR’, Kala Bhairav earning the Best Male Playback Singer award, Prem Rakshishtha’s choreography in ‘RRR’ being recognized as the best, and V. Srinivasa Mohan’s exceptional work on the film’s special effects earning him the award. This showcases the Southern film industry’s substantial impact, surpassing even Bollywood in certain aspects.

Stellar Cast and Production

‘RRR’, an action-packed drama, boasts an impressive ensemble cast featuring Ajay Devgn, Junior NTR, Ram Charan Teja, Alia Bhatt, Shreya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris. Originally released in Telugu, the film’s dialogues were penned by S.S. Rajamouli’s father, V. Vijayendra Prasad. Produced by DVV Danayya of DVV Entertainment, the film’s inception dates back to March 2018. It saw its multi-language release, including Telugu and Hindi, on March 25, 2022, leaving an indelible mark in the cinematic landscape.

‘RRR’ Budget

With a budget of Rs 550 crore, ‘RRR’ went on to collect an impressive Rs 1,316 crore at the box office, firmly establishing itself as a super hit.

Golden Globe Awards

Adding to its accomplishments, ‘RRR’ achieved the distinction of becoming the third Indian film and the inaugural Telugu film to secure a nomination at the prestigious Golden Globe Awards. Its nomination in the category of Best Foreign Language Film highlights its international recognition and impact.
