Ram Charan & Jr NTR Were Reluctant to perform on Natu Natu in the Oscar Ceremony?

The two Tollywood superstars of Natu Natu fame, were not willing to perform on the song on the Oscars stage, says the producer of the RRR.

The producer’s statement appears to be unbelievable since it looks highly impossible for Ram Charan and Jr NTR to say NO to the celebration of the song’s success at the global dias. Producer Raj Kapoor says, they ‘didn’t feel comfortable performing’ the Naatu Naatu song on stage.

At the 95th Academy Awards, actors Jr NTR and Ram Charan were expected to perform the Naatu Naatu song from RRR live but that did not happen. One of the producers present at the Oscars awards ceremony, Raj Kapoor stated both of the actors backed out with multiple excuses. One of the reasons of this was the duo was not comfortable performing the dance live on the Oscars stage.

The question is seemingly half answered

The plan initially was to present the track’s original singers Kaala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj on stage singing it live along with the performance of Jr NTR and Ram Charan with a battalion of dancers. But finally, during the ceremony, the singers did sing the song on stage but they were accompanied by a group of dancers instead of the two stars.

The team was all set to go for Live with the duo

Lately while the Academy interviews the producers of the flick, Raj said, “Originally, Ram Charan and Jr NTR were going to be the stars of the number with the singers Kaala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj. With the help of the show, the team secured working visas for flying to the US to be a part of the performance…We also had the musical edit approved by the composer, and also had a late-night Zoom call session with the choreography team in Los Angeles and India and in which we shared stage renderings, costume design ideas, and casting choices  with the team from India.”

Rehearsal time and professional commitments were the reason?

The RRR producers also added, “Last month in February, we were informed that NT Rama Rao Jr and Ram Charan were going to attend the Oscars, but they were not feeling comfortable performing the live dance on stage. Limited amount of rehearsal time along with the actors’ other professional commitments were the main reasons probably which compelled us to change the plan.”
