Oscar 2023: Another Milestone For Indian Cinema! Deepika Padukone To Attend As One Of The Presenters

With the 95th Oscar less than two weeks away, the Academy Of Picture Arts and Sciences finally announced the first wave of presenters at the Oscars 2023. Bollywood Superstar Deepika Padukone who is one of the biggest stars of B-Town made it to the list, adding another milestone to her career.  

Deepika Padukone join the league of Oscar Presenter

Deepika Padukone, on Thursday(02 March), announced the exciting news that she is among the celebrities presenting at the 95th Oscars. The actress shared a post on her Instagram with the names of all the presenters. The presenters’ list includes Riz Ahmed, Emily Blunt, Glenn Close, Troy Kotsur, Dwayne Johnson, Jennifer Connelly, Samuel L. Jackson, Melissa McCarthy, Zoe Saldana Donnie Yen, Jonathan Majors and Questlove. Sharing the post, the actress simply penned down, “#oscars#oscars95.” The 95th Academy Awards will be held on March 12 (March 13 in India) at Los Angeles’ Dolly Theatre.

After she shared the post, soon celebs cheered the actress in the comment section. Neha Dhupia was among the first ones to drop a comment: “can’t wait to watch you Deepu @deepikapadukone.”

Special Year for Indian Film Industry

This year the Oscars are going to be extra special for India as one song and two documentaries have been nominated in various categories. ‘Naatu Naatu’ from SS Rajamouli’s RRR has been nominated at this year’s Oscars in the Best Original Song category. Not only this but the song will be performed live on stage at the 95th Oscars. Singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, in their Oscar debut, will be performing the track on stage, the Academy announced on Tuesday night.

The song’s music has been composed by MM Keeravaani, while its lyrics are written by Chandrabose. ‘All That Breathes’ is selected for Best Documentary Feature Film, while ‘Elephant Whisperers’ is among the nominees for Best Documentary Short Film.  

Deepika Padukone’s upcoming projects

Deepika is currently busy with the shooting of Fighter, the upcoming aerial action film that marks her first onscreen collaboration with Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan. The project, which is directed by Pathaan director Siddharth Anand, features both Deepika and Hrithik in the roles of fighter pilots. 

Deepika Padukone is also making her Telugu debut with the upcoming sci-fi fantasy film Project K. The movie is directed by Nag Ashwin and features Telugu superstar Prabhas in the lead role. The much-awaited project features a stellar star cast including legendary superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani. She is also rumoured to be making a cameo appearance in Jawan, the upcoming Shah Rukh Khan starrer directed by Atlee.
