‘On Top Of The World’: Munmun Dutta Reacts As Empire State Building Lights Up In India’s Tricolour

Television actress Munmun Dutta expressed her joy after visiting New York’s iconic Empire State Building, which displayed India’s tricolour as part of the Independence Day celebrations.

Dutta travelled to New York alongside the cast of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah to participate in celebrations marking India’s Independence Day.

The actress posted a video on Instagram featuring moments from the group’s visit and described the occasion as an especially memorable part of their New York trip. She said the sight of the landmark illuminated in the colours of the Indian flag left her feeling ‘on top of the world’.

Dutta described the Empire State Building visit as a memorable way to begin the team’s New York journey. She further expressed her appreciation to the Federation of Indian Associations and the Empire State Building team for helping organise the special experience.

The landmark’s tricolour illumination added a strong patriotic element to the celebrations and allowed the visiting television team to mark the occasion in New York.

Dutta entered the entertainment industry with the television show Hum Sab Baraati in 2004. She later appeared in a supporting role in Pooja Bhatt’s film Holiday, which featured Dino Morea, Gulshan Grover and Onjolee Nair.

The actress subsequently gained widespread recognition through Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, where she continues to be associated with one of Indian television’s most popular ensembles.

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah draws its inspiration from Tarak Mehta’s column Duniya Ne Undha Chashma, published in the magazine Chitralekha.

The sitcom revolves around the residents of Gokuldham Co-operative Housing Society in Mumbai, bringing together characters from different cultural and regional backgrounds.

The show frequently explores everyday challenges faced by individuals, families and the wider community, while portraying residents supporting one another and coming together to celebrate festivals and important occasions.
