OMG 2, starring Akshay Kumar, has been in the news ever since the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) demanded a review. It has now been announced that the Amit Rai-directed movie has gotten an “A” rating from the censor board, just 10 days before it is set to be released.
The CBFC has advised against making any cuts for OMG 2, only tweaks. ” After all the debates, the movie was approved without any changes. According to a source quoted by the entertainment portal, some scenes, conversations, and characters have been changed after discussion with the censor board members.
The insider added that OMG 2’s premiere is not anticipated to be delayed and that the movie’s producers intend to release the trailer on August 3. “Allegations regarding a delay in the film’s release were circulating in the rumor mills, but those allegations are untrue. As planned, OMG 2 will be released on August 11; the intensive marketing effort will start now. In the next two days, the trailer is anticipated to be released, the insider said.
It has also been alleged that the creators of OMG 2 first fought for a U/A Certificate but later realized they would have to make significant changes. As a result, the creators chose to follow the CBFC’s recommendations for revisions and proceed with an A.
For those who are unaware, the Central Board Of Film Certification pushed Oh My God 2 for assessment early this month. The movie was brought to the reviewing committee as a “preemptive measure.” According to reports, the choice was made to avoid the backlash that developed after Adipurush was made public last month.
The 2012 film OMG, which again featured Akshay Kumar in the lead role, was followed up with OMG 2. Paresh Rawal, who was in the 2012 film, won’t appear in the follow-up. Pankaj Tripathi has joined the franchise in its place. In the film, Yami Gautam also has a significant role. OMG 2 is said to be centered on sex education. There is, however, no formal confirmation of this.
On August 11, OMG 2 will premiere in theatres. As a result, the movie will compete at the box office with Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 and Rajinikanth’s Jailer.
