Protests against Pathaan: Now Muslim Women Take To Streets Demanding Ban On SRK Flick

Protests against Pathaan:  the SRK flick continues. Burning SRK’s effigy in Varanasi, now Muslim women oppose the film saying it hurts Hindu sentiments.

Protests against Pathaan: Placards saying Ban Pathaan’  and ‘Shah Rukh Khan Murdabad’ are seen in Uttar Pradesh now. Muslim women have come to streets demonstrating against the film. SRK’s effigy has also been burnt by the protesters demanding ban on the Shahrukh Khan’s latest movie  ‘Pathaan’. They say the movie hurts Hindu sentiments, and that is not acceptable.

In the holy city, Varanasi trouble seems continuing to mount over SRK’s upcoming film ‘Pathaan’. The movie has been embroiled in controversy since its release of the song ‘Besharam Rang’. This may be a deliberate controversy fetching attempt for attracting people to theatres to watch the flick. Still there are allegations that the movie deliberately show the song to tarnish the Hindu saffron color image.

Movie’s main song BESHARM RANG is the bone of contention which is shown in the movie with the lead actress Deepika Padukone’s saffron dress, This brings the flick in the eye of the storm while several leaders and Hindu outfits term it an ‘insult to Hindu sentiments’.

So far the protests were seen in different parts of India, including in Indore where activists burnt Shah Rukh Khan’s effigy. Now the Muslim women in Varanasi have come out demanding ban on the film. In the holy city of Uttar Pradesh, Muslim women stood in solidarity with Hindu brothers demonstrating against Pathaan holding ‘Ban Pathaan’ and ‘Shah Rukh Khan Murdabad’ placards.

The women protesters allege that in Bollywood it has become a fashion that they hurt Hindu sentiments through the movies. Prior to this, MP city, Indore also saw similar protests on 15th of December while Veer Shivaji Group activists took to Indore streets condemning ‘Pathaan’ movie burning the effigy of SRK. The SRK movie with a ban demand is going to be screened in the month of January 2023.
