Finally! Hrithik Roshan will return as the smooth government agent Kabir in Yash Raj Movies’ Conflict 2. However, YRF has hired Ayan Mukerji to direct the sequel in place of War director Siddharth Anand. This development follows the filmmaker’s announcement that Brahmastra 2 will be released simultaneously in 2026 and 2027. But now it has been confirmed that Ayan Mukerji to direct War 2 but not Siddharth Anand.
Interestingly, Siddharth Anand and Hrithik Roshan are already working on their third film together, Fighter, after Bang, Bang, and War. Deepika Padukone, a Pathan actress, appears in the film. Fans have therefore been taken aback by the news that Ayan Mukerji will be helming YRF’s massive spy sequel.
A business source said, “Aditya Chopra is choosing the captain of the ship strategically for each YRF spy universe film.” Ayan has produced big hits that have the pulse of Indian audiences and appeal to all demographics. He has said that he knows the best way to mount a movie with immense scope, which is fundamental for somebody to coordinate Conflict 2. In addition, he is a young filmmaker who can add a new dimension to the spy universe. “War 2” will feature Ayan’s original take on how to create an epic action spectacle. He has Aditya Chopra’s confidence to lead the franchise.
