Meghan McCain Warns: “Taylor Swift Has Nowhere To Go But Down”

Taylor Swift has been named Time magazine’s Person of the Year, dominated this year’s Grammy Awards, and achieved the highest opening for a concert film with “The Eras Tour.” She’s also embarked on a continent-hopping, months-long tour of the same name and released a double album, “The Tortured Poets Society,” featuring dozens of tracks. Additionally, her relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce has kept her in the headlines. Clearly, Taylor is on a roll. However, Meghan McCain, blogger, author, and host of the “Citizen McCain” podcast, believes these achievements might have a downside.

Meghan McCain’s Perspective

“I do think when she’s done touring, giving us a mild break from her being in the news cycle as much as she is would be helpful for her and us as commentators,” said Meghan. “I feel like I’m living in this Groundhog Day of Trump, Biden, Taylor Swift; Trump, Biden, Taylor Swift. Those are the only topics that Americans are allowed to talk about in the news all day long. And I think for her, a little bit of a beat would be good,” she added.

Taylor Swift’s Latest Highlights

Taylor, currently on her Eras Tour, surprised fans at London’s Wembley Stadium on Sunday with an appearance by her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, tight end for the Super Bowl-winning Kansas City Chiefs. Dressed in a tuxedo with a tailcoat and top hat, Kelce joined Swift on stage for a transitional sketch leading into her song “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” In fan videos, Kelce is seen carrying Swift and assisting her into a costume change, even fanning and powdering her face as part of the act.

Last month, Swift performed her first Eras Tour concert since the release of “The Tortured Poets Society” at La Défense Arena in Paris, shaking up her setlist to include new songs from the record-breaking album released in April. The billion-dollar Eras Tour is a career retrospective, with Swift performing over 40 tracks from her 17 years of recorded music. “The Tortured Poets Society” marks her first brand-new release since the tour’s start.
