Directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth and featuring veteran actor Rajinikanth, the sports drama “Lal Salaam” made its debut in India with an estimated ₹4.3 crore nett on Friday, as reported by Sacnilk.com. The film witnessed a Tamil occupancy of 30.35 percent on its opening day, with Pondicherry recording the highest at 39.25 percent.
Initially slated for release during the Pongal festival in January, “Lal Salaam” saw a delayed release date, as announced by production house Lyca Productions. Presented by A Subaskaran, the film boasts music composed by AR Rahman. Directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth after an eight-year hiatus, “Lal Salaam” features Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in lead roles, portraying childhood rivals Thiru and Shamsu respectively. Rajinikanth takes on the role of Moideen Bhai in the movie.
Rajinikanth’s portrayal of Moideen Bhai, a Muslim leader, is intriguing. Certain dialogues delivered by him reflect profound beliefs, resonating strongly with today’s societal context. Notably, one dialogue emphasizing humanity over caste and religion particularly stands out, echoing sentiments the Superstar has expressed in real life.
