Kriti Kharbanda marks 15 years in cinema
Actress Kriti Kharbanda, known for her films like ‘Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana’, ‘Karwaan’, and ‘Housefull 4’, has celebrated 15 years in the film industry. Today, she points a reamark on Instagram to reflect her journey with a heartfelt note.
She recounted an interesting anecdote from the release of her movie in Kannada ‘Googly’.
Kriti, who debuted with the Telugu film ‘Boni’ in 2009, began her message by writing: “I’ve spent the last 15 years, the majority of my life, as an actor. What started as a hobby and a way to pay the bills gradually became a passion! A passion I didn’t even know I had.”
She shared that her journey helped her to grow both as a person and as an actor, and her deeper understanding of the film industry has increased her fascination with it.
Further she mentioned: “Today, as I celebrate 15 years as an actor, I want to share a story with you. Since my teenage years, I ran a boutique with my mom. We spent a lot of time shopping, designing, and picking out fabrics. A few days after the release of my Kannada movie, ‘Googly’, we were at a mall.”
When Kriti entered a store, everything seemed normal. However, upon exiting, she realized that there were hundreds of people outside.
“I looked up and saw people standing around the aisle, staring at me. I didn’t understand what was happening until the crowd started chanting ‘doctree doctree’. I couldn’t believe my eyes and ears! I was so overwhelmed that I grabbed my dad’s arm and said, ‘let’s go to the parking, pa, we need to leave.” That was the day I realized the power of cinema and our industry. I went from being a teenager to an actor and quickly into a star, and I was afraid to blink. Soon after, my life changed,” she continued.
In these 15 years, Kriti has worked with some of the biggest stars in Indian cinema, like Pawan Kalyan and Yash. She made her Bollywood debut with ‘Raaz: The Reboot’.
She expressed: “Today, I want to thank myself. The younger, naive, trusting, passionate, brave me. I’m here because of her today because she could have given up. I know she wanted to when things got hard, but she didn’t. She kept going. And I want to thank myself for today. I’m so proud of the person I’ve become and I wouldn’t change a thing about me.”
“A big thank you to everyone who’s been part of this incredible journey—my family, siblings, husband, friends, and especially those who believed in my talent and the fans who supported me. Thank you for trusting me to entertain you, watching my movies, and believing in me. Lots of love #kritikharbanda #15yearsofkritikharbanda,” she concluded.
