Key highlights of the match

Gujarat Times posted 204/4 in 20 overs after electing to bat first. Vijay Shankar scored the highest with 63 off 24 balls, consisting of four boundaries and five sixes. Sai Sudhrarshan also scored his half-century in IPL 2023. He scored 53 in 38 balls. Subham Gill also played well with 39 runs on 31 balls.

KKR was reduced to 28/2 in their attempt to chase down 205 runs, but skipper Nitish Rana (45 off 29 balls with four boundaries and three sixes) and Venkatesh Iyer (83 in 40 balls with eight fours and five sixes) pieced up a century-run partnership for the third wicket.

With 155/7, KKR was in trouble after Rashid’s hat trick and the dismissal of these two set hitters. 29 runs in the last over were all that differentiated the winner. With five consecutive sixes in the last over, Rinku Singh made a crucial cameo and helped KKR secure what had previously seemed impossible. Rinku hit one four and six sixes in 21 balls to score 48*.

Joshua Little and Mohammed Shami each took one wicket, and Alzarri Joseph took two. Due to his incredible match-winning cameo, Rinku Singh was recognized as Player of the Match.

After this victory, KKR has moved up to third place in the standings, winning two and losing one of their previous three games. They have four points overall.
