Katrina Kaif Emphasizes: Success in Cinema Has No Pre-determined Formula

In an interview at the third Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Indian actress Katrina Kaif, 40 years old, emphasized that there is no formula predetermined for success in cinema. She mentioned the unpredictability of roles and scripts, often relying on instincts when choosing them. She expressed gratitude for working with directors like Yash Chopra, Kabir Khan, Rohit Shetty, and Sriram Raghavan. She highlighted the significance of the audience’s love as the ultimate reward for actors.

Kaif shared her experience working with Shah Rukh Khan in “Jab Tak Hai Jaan” and expressed sadness that it turned out to be Yash Chopra’s final film. She acknowledged Shah Rukh Khan’s consistent support throughout her career. Reflecting on criticism, she mentioned how she absorbs it but stays focused and doubles her enthusiasm for her work.

Regarding her upcoming film “Meri Christmas” directed by Sriram Raghavan, Kaif praised the director as a genius. She spoke about the emotional connection to languages during the shooting and how changing the language can alter emotions. Discussing her recent film “Tiger 3,” she mentioned undergoing challenging training for action scenes, particularly in the bathroom fight sequence.

Katrina Kaif, who comes from a family of six sisters, emphasized the strong support system within her family, stating that their unity makes external support unnecessary. She shared her mother’s lessons in resilience after her parents’ divorce during her childhood. Born in Hong Kong on July 16, 1983, to a Kashmiri businessman father, Mohammed Kaif, and a British lawyer and social worker mother, Suzanne Turquotte, Katrina recounted her family’s extensive travels from Hong Kong to various countries, finally settling in London.

Discussing her films, Kaif expressed that “New York” (2009) is her favorite, and she expressed a desire for a sequel to “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.” She acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s evolving cinema scene and expressed interest in expanding her beauty product company, “Kay Beauty,” in the region.

Concluding, Katrina Kaif encouraged Saudi Arabian artists and filmmakers to stay true to their goals, share their stories with the world, and not let doubt affect their creative pursuits. She also spoke about her relationship with husband Vicky Kaushal, emphasizing open communication and continuous dialogue in their different perspectives.
