Kareena Kapoor Khan Celebrates 25 Years In Bollywood

Kareena Kapoor Khan celebrated a major milestone on Monday, marking 25 years in the Hindi film industry.

She took to Instagram to post throwback photos from her debut film, Refugee and shared a heartfelt message.

“25 years and forever to go,” she wrote, along with old pictures featuring herself and co-star Abhishek Bachchan.

She also tagged director JP Dutta and cast members Jackie Shroff, Sunil Shetty, and Anupam Kher.

Released in 2000, Refugee marked the acting debut of both Kareena and Abhishek.

The film told the story of an Indian Muslim who helps illegal refugees cross borders through the Rann of Kutch. It stood out for its unique storyline and earned critical and commercial success. It was also the fifth highest-grossing Hindi film of that year.

Abhishek Bachchan shared his thoughts

Reflecting on the journey, Abhishek Bachchan shared his thoughts about completing 25 years in the industry.

He said he prefers to focus on the future rather than the past.

“I want to think about the next 25 years—what I’m going to do next,” Abhishek Bachchan said.

Inspired by his father, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek stressed the importance of growth, learning, and always moving forward. He believes experience should help shape a better version of oneself.

Abhishek also recalled being very nervous during the early days of filming. He described his first days on set as filled with butterflies.

Abhishek remembered an incident from the film’s premiere where he and Kareena got briefly stuck in a projector room due to a packed crowd. He said the excitement and nervousness of that moment still stay with him.

When asked whether he’d want Refugee to return to theatres, Abhishek responded thoughtfully. He said the decision would be up to director JP Dutta and whether the film still holds meaning for today’s audience.

Kareena and Abhishek’s debut marked the beginning of two strong careers in the industry.

Kareena has since become one of the leading actresses of her generation, known for her versatility and bold choices. Abhishek, too, has created a solid body of work, ranging from intense dramas to popular entertainers.

Their 25-year milestone is not only a celebration of where they started but also a reminder of how far they have come.

Both continue to look ahead with purpose, passion, and a strong belief in what the future holds.

Abhishek Bachchan said, “I want to look forward. I want to think about the next 25 years—what I’m going to do next. That’s done now.”

He said these things, taking inspiration from his father Amitabh Bachchan, who has had a long-lasting Carrer for over 5 decades.

Abhishek added more, “Take your experience and learnings from the last 25 years and use them to make yourself better.”
