Karan Johar Sells 50% Of Dharma Productions To Adar Poonawalla Following Reported Loss

Karan Johar has sold a 50% stake in his production company, Dharma Productions, to Adar Poonawalla’s Serene Productions. This announcement comes amid speculation about financial difficulties at Dharma, with earlier rumors suggesting a potential deal with Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries.

On October 21, both parties released a joint statement confirming the deal. Serene Productions will invest INR 1,000 crore into Dharma Productions and its subsidiary, Dharmatic Entertainment. Following this investment, Karan Johar will retain the remaining 50% ownership and continue as the Executive Chairman.
