Kanagana Ranaut's Emergency Teaser is out now
Here is the first trailer for Kanagana Ranaut’s Emergency Teaser. She portrays India’s first female prime minister, Indira Gandhi, in the movie, which is her solo directorial debut. The movie’s release date has been announced as November 24, 2023, and Kangana shared the news on Instagram.
On June 25, 1975, the video opens with mayhem as protesters cause a commotion in the street and what looks to be a newspaper cutout bearing the headline “State of Emergency Declared.” Next, he appears in Anupam Kher’s narration from behind bars with the title “Opposition leader arrested.” In the movie, he portrays the late politician Jayaprakash Narayan, also known as JP Narayan. He declares, “This is not our death, but the death of the nation. Ye hamari nahi iss desh ki maut hai.”

In 2021, Kangana will release Emergency. It was written by Ritesh Shah, who also wrote the screenplay for Kangana’s last movie, Dhaakad. Along with Kangana and Anupam Kher, other prominent actors in the movie include Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry, the late Satish Kaushik, and Shreyas Talpade.
