Joe Jonas Reflects On Disconnecting From Technology And Reliving Childhood

Pop star Joe Jonas recently performed his latest single, Heart by Heart, to a phone-free crowd in New York, a unique experience he thoroughly enjoyed.

Jonas found it refreshing to perform without the usual sight of audiences glued to their screens.

Speaking after the performance, Jonas reflected on how rare it is for him to perform without the distraction of phones.

“It’s been a while – actually, I couldn’t even tell you when I last performed with no phones. I went to the Masters this year, and you can’t bring your phone there, so that was nice,” he said.

Embracing A Phone-Free Life

Jonas admitted that, like many others, he spends an unhealthy amount of time online. However, he also recognises the value of disconnecting from the digital world every so often.

“Once you’re away from your phone for even a few hours, you sometimes panic – at least I do. But then you get back, and you realise, ‘Okay, I’m fine, the world is still revolving, and everyone is fine,’” he explained.

Being free from constant notifications reminded Jonas to stay more present with his friends and family.

“I’m at fault for becoming somebody who just scrolls endlessly. This is a nice reminder to just be present with the people around you,” he added.

Fatherhood Brings New Joy And Nostalgia

Aside from his career, Jonas is also experiencing the joys of fatherhood, which has brought him closer to his own childhood memories.

He shared that being a parent has allowed him to ‘relive’ his own early years through the eyes of his children.

Speaking at the Miami Art Week event, The Wellness Oasis, he said: “As a parent myself, I’m also reliving childhood again through my kids’ eyes, and that’s just the best feeling.”

The star, who has been embracing the challenges of fatherhood, described it as the “best feeling” in his life.

Making Parenthood Fun And Fulfilling

Joe Jonas, who married Sophie Turner in 2019 and separated in 2024, also emphasised his commitment to making fatherhood a fun and fulfilling experience.

“I’m really making sure that I’m able to have a lot of fun,” he said.

Reflecting on his life and career, Jonas emphasised the importance of enjoying the present moment.

“This is so amazing that we get the opportunity to be on this earth and do what we do. Whether it’s enjoying your career or spending time with great friends, I think it’s essential to tap into what little Joe would really be into and just have fun,” he explained.
