Jackie Shroff Pays Tribute To Prithviraj Kapoor On 54th Death Anniversary

Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff on Thursday paid a heartfelt tribute to legendary cinema pioneer Prithviraj Kapoor on his 54th death anniversary.

The veteran actor remembered the late screen legend by sharing a monochrome portrait on social media along with an emotional message celebrating his enduring contribution to Indian entertainment.

The shared photograph captured a young Prithviraj Kapoor dressed elegantly in a formal suit.

Jackie accompanied the image with a touching note that read, “Prithviraj Kapoor ji always in our hearts,” along with folded hands emojis.

The post also mentioned the iconic actor’s birth and death dates, November 3, 1906, and May 29, 1972.

Widely regarded as one of the foundational pillars of Indian cinema and theatre, Prithviraj Kapoor began his acting journey during the silent film era before emerging as one of Hindi cinema’s most influential personalities. He reportedly passed away in Mumbai after battling cancer.

Prithviraj Kapoor also featured in Alam Ara, recognised as India’s first talking film, released in 1931. Throughout his distinguished career, he delivered memorable performances in acclaimed productions including Mughal-E-Azam, Sikandar, Heer Raanjha, and Kal Aaj Aur Kal.

Prithviraj Kapoor’s cinematic legacy flourished through generations of the Kapoor family, including sons Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, and Shashi Kapoor.

Later generations featured stars such as Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Ranbir Kapoor.

Jackie Shroff remains known for consistently remembering and honouring iconic personalities from the entertainment industry on significant occasions.
