“I’ll Return Your Money ASAP,” Aanjjan Srivastav Recalled Amitabh Bachchan’s Statement Before Bankruptcy

Aanjjan Srivastav recalls how Amitabh Bachchan had gone bankrupt before Kaun Banega Crorepati: With his hands folded Amitji said, ‘I’ll return your money asap’
Amitabh Bachchan declared bankruptcy prior to the release of Kaun Banega Crorepati, and according to Aanjjan Srivastav, he promised to refund the money as soon as possible while keeping his hands folded.

Wagle Ki Duniya’s Aanjjan Srivastav and Amitabh Bachchan shared a strong bond back in the 90s. When Aanjjan introduced Amitabh Bachchan to his banker side in Shahenshah and convinced him to open a bank account with the institution he was working at their professional and personal relationship was born. Aanjjan supported Big B at his most difficult moments, but after Kaun Banega Crorepati, things deteriorated. This is what Aanjjan revealed:

Visited  Toofan sets to see how was Amitji

Amitji was in a horrible situation at the time since a massive revolt was taking place against him. I visited the Toofan sets in Filmistan to see how he was doing. There was a sizable anti-Amit Ji protest taking place in Kolkata at the time. While posters were being pulled down, Amit ji was visibly upset. When I arrived, I questioned him, “Bhaisahab kaise hai?” How are you, Brother? and all he said was, “Theek hun” (I’m OK).

Amitji was in really poor health

There was nobody to see how he was doing. We are aware that Allahabad’s writers began to criticise him. Without his knowledge, his father’s friends had started criticising him. He was in a dire, terrible state. After that, he had an accident, and I frequently helped him. Amitji was a good man in my eyes.​

 

Amitabh Bachchan was trapped due to wrong bank statements

Amit Ji was imprisoned in the ABCL account when it was present. People were always bluffing him when we used to take statements from the bank and go to his office. My boss and I came to this realisation. I requested that the managers refrain from suing him because he was implicated in the incident while being innocent.

Amitji folded his hands and said, ‘I will return your money asap’

He instantly stood up with his hands folded as he saw us. I will reimburse your money as soon as I can, he promised. We have not come for that, I told him. Our arrival is a result of your accountant’s error. We trust that you will provide and that your intentions are good since you will return the money as soon as you can. Do not, however, conduct business with other banks in this type of banking. I returned to the bank and advised them not to pursue a lawsuit. He slowly gave back all the cash.

Amitabh Bachchan  filed for bankruptcy

Amitabh Bachchan had filed for bankruptcy; he was unable to cover the enormous losses ABCL was suffering. With Kaun Banega Crorepati, he managed to recover. I was most shocked to learn that he had cut off all of his former buddies. After joining KBC, he had undergone a metamorphosis.

Aanjjan and Amitabh’s relationship soured

After KBC, things between Amit ji and I got bad. Jaya ji used to call me and invite my family and I to the Holi celebrations, but over time, both of those invitations and our communication completely stopped. My career was unaffected, but it stung nonetheless. It may even have been my small group of theatrical friends’ fault for inciting Amitji to turn against me.
