Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’ To Hit The Theaters Soon
There has been a lot of excitement surrounding the release of Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming directorial project. The newly elected MP from Mandi has been hinting at the release and sharing glimpses of the movie’s first look for some time. The filmmakers have finally announced a release date, which is just around the corner.
Last month, Kangana revealed that she would delay her movie, Emergency, because of her election campaign with the Bharatiya Janata Party for the Mandi constituency. Following her victory, she is now preparing to release her much-anticipated period political drama on 6 September 2024.
Produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, ‘Emergency’ is a big-budget portrayal of one of the most contentious periods in Indian democracy. The story centers on one of the most remarkable leaders in history, India’s first female Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi.

Kangana stated, “I am deeply inspired by William Shakespeare’s Macbeth. The essence of Emergency is the destruction caused when ambition is unchecked by moral constraints. It is undoubtedly the most sensational chapter of Indian democracy, and I am eagerly awaiting its worldwide release on 6th September 2024.”
Earlier, in January 2023, Kangana shared a heartfelt note on Instagram about her experience making the film. She spoke about her struggles, “From mortgaging all my properties, everything I owned, to being diagnosed with dengue during the first schedule and filming despite alarmingly low blood cell counts, my character as an individual has been severely tested.”
‘Emergency’ features an impressive cast including Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik. Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films produced the film, with Sanchit Balhara composing the music and Ritesh Shah writing the screenplay and dialogues.
