Ed Sheeran, the English chart-topping musician behind hits like Perfect and Shape of You, has taken his passion for collecting movie memorabilia to a new level.
During an appearance on the podcast Call Her Daddy, Sheeran revealed his latest wishlist item: George Clooney’s original Batman costume from Batman and Robin.
Ed Sheeran aims to complete a rare matching set by adding George Clooney’s batsuit to his collection, after already buying Alicia Silverstone’s Batgirl outfit from the same film.
The 34-year-old artist explained that buying movie props has become an annual birthday tradition.
“I just buy one prop a year. It’s the thing I look forward to. I think all year, what am I going to get?” he said.
In previous years, Sheeran has purchased iconic items like a Star Wars C-3PO replica and costumes from Steven Spielberg’s Hook, including Robin Williams’ Pan outfit and Julia Roberts’ Tinker Bell dress.
These collectibles are proudly displayed in a custom-built tunnel connecting different areas of Sheeran’s expansive Suffolk estate.
“In the tunnel, I built a listening room, and there’s a cinema—it’s less of a man cave and more of a man catacomb,” he said, describing the underground lair that houses his collection.
Sheeran’s estate also includes a lake, a pub, and a chapel, reflecting both his artistic eccentricity and deep love for privacy and comfort.
His passion for film memorabilia, he said, is an extension of his love for storytelling and nostalgia.
Despite the extravagance, Sheeran credits fatherhood for keeping him grounded.
With two young daughters, Lyra and Jupiter, and his wife Cherry Seaborn, he noted that family has dramatically transformed his lifestyle.
He described Cherry as ‘the biggest grounding force’ in his life, adding, ‘She won’t let me go too Hollywood’.
As fans await whether Sheeran successfully adds George Clooney’s batsuit to his vault of iconic props, his dedication to balancing fame with family and fun remains clear.
Whether singing to millions or bidding on Batman gear, Sheeran continues to blend celebrity charm with a grounded sense of wonder.
