Deepika Padukone dazzles in saree at BAFTAs 2024; meets Bradley Cooper, Cillian Murphy

Actress Deepika Padukone graced the 77th BAFTA Film Awards on Sunday evening, where she took the stage to present the esteemed award for Best Film Not in the English Language. Actor Jonathan Glazer emerged victorious for his outstanding work in “The Zone Of Interest,” amidst stiff competition from other notable nominees including “20 Days in Mariupol,” “Anatomy of a Fall,” “Past Lives,” and “Society of the Snow.” Padukone’s presence added to the glamour of the evening as she participated in honoring excellence in global cinema.

At the BAFTAs, Deepika Padukone graced the red carpet alongside Hollywood stars Bradley Cooper and Cillian Murphy. Dressed in a stunning golden and silver-hued shimmery saree adorned with sequins, Padukone exuded elegance. Her ensemble was complemented by a matching blouse featuring strappy sleeves. Sporting a chic messy hair bun and statement earrings, the actor radiated glamour at the prestigious event.

Amid thunderous applause, Deepika Padukone graced the stage at the London Royal Festival Hall for the BAFTAs, resplendent in a golden and silver-hued shimmery saree. She captivated the audience as she announced the prestigious Best Film Not in English Language award. Across India, viewers tuned in to catch the live stream of the event on Lionsgate Play, witnessing the global celebration of cinematic excellence. Among the esteemed presenters joining Deepika were icons like David Beckham, Dua Lipa, Cate Blanchett, Adjoa Andoh, Hugh Grant, and Lily Collins, adding to the star-studded affair of the evening.

Notable figures including Prince William, Robert Downey Jr, Andrew Scott, Emma Stone, and Florence Pugh graced the BAFTA Awards ceremony alongside Deepika Padukone. Following her impactful appearance at the previous year’s Oscars, Deepika proudly represented India as a presenter at this prestigious event.

Expressing her appreciation for the opportunity to be a BAFTA Award presenter, Deepika took to Instagram Stories to share a post captioned simply, “Gratitude.”

Who won at the BAFTAs

At the BAFTAs ceremony, “Oppenheimer” emerged as the night’s big winner, securing seven prestigious prizes, including Best Picture, Best Director for Christopher Nolan, and Best Actor for Cillian Murphy. Following closely behind, “Poor Things” garnered five awards, while “The Zone of Interest” clinched three.

Christopher Nolan celebrated his inaugural BAFTA win for Best Director with “Oppenheimer,” while Cillian Murphy took home the Best Actor accolade for his remarkable performance.

Meanwhile, Emma Stone was honored with the Best Actress title for her portrayal of the spirited Bella Baxter in “Poor Things,” a visually stunning steampunk-style film. The movie also triumphed in categories such as Visual Effects, Production Design, Makeup and Hair, and Costume Design, solidifying its status as a standout production of the year.
