Breaking! Warner Bros ‘The Nun II’ To Clash Now With Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’

Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film, Jawan, is widely anticipated by both viewers and the industry after Pathaan (2023) became an all-time hit. It was planned to open in theatres on June 2. However, the wait lengthened, and the new release date is September 7. As it turns out, Jawan won’t be released alone. But ‘The Nun II’ is also set to release on the same date.

Nun II to release with Jawan

The Nun II, a highly anticipated horror movie, will be released in the same week as Jawan, Warner Bros. revealed yesterday, July 6. On Friday, September 8, The Nun part 2 will be released in Indian theatres and shown there in both the original English language dub as well as the Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil languages.

First Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, and now Jawan

It’s interesting to note that the Hollywood studio is colliding this year with a major Hindi picture starring Khan and its terror scare-fest. Evil Dead Rise was released on April 21; as a result, it clashed with Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Despite the conflict, the horror movie was able to acquire enough screenings and earn a sizable Rs. 36.50 crore, surprising both the trade and the industry.

Part two of The Nun is expected to do well in theatres

The Nun II is therefore expected to live up to high expectations because it is a part of the hugely successful The Conjuring Universe franchise in India. In actuality, The Nun (2018), the first installment, brought in Rs. 46.46 crore.

According to a trade analyst, The Nun II will maintain a respectable screen count despite Jawan’s competition because it is also having a multilingual release. The only competition it will face then is Salaar, which opens in theatres on September 28. As a result, The Nun II may become a tremendous financial success if word of mouth is favorable.

Nun II to release on September 8

On September 8, The Nun II will also be made available everywhere. The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021), the final installment of this series, was likewise directed by Michael Chaves.
Along with Shah Rukh Khan, Jawan also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, and Sanya Malhotra. In order to capitalize on the Janmashtami holiday, it is directed by Atlee and comes out on a Thursday.
