Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan sustained an injury after a thief attacked him with a knife during a robbery attempt at his home early this morning. The incident occurred around 4 AM at the residence of Saif and his wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan.
During the attempted burglary, the intruder attacked Saif with a knife, injuring him in the back. Fortunately, the injury is not serious, and he is receiving medical treatment at a local hospital.
Saif Ali Khan’s team released an official statement, confirming the attempted burglary and revealing that the actor is currently undergoing surgery. The statement requested patience from the media and fans, stating, “It is a police matter.”
A source close to the actor revealed that Saif fought the intruder without a weapon to protect his family. The actor reportedly fought hard to save his family from harm, despite the thief being armed.
The actor has “six stabs” out of which “two are deep”, said the doctor from Lilavati Hospital. Dr. Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, said an unidentified person stabbed Saif at his Bandra home, and Saif was brought in at 3:30 am.
Uttamani further stated that Saif has six stabs and two are deep.
“This one is close to the spine. Uttamani said a team of doctors, led by Neurosurgeon Dr Nitin Dange, Cosmetic Surgeon Dr Leena Jain, and Anaesthesiologist Dr Nisha Gandhi, is operating on him.
Mumbai Police confirmed the news of the attack, and the investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile, sources say Kareena Kapoor Khan and their children, Taimur and Jeh, remained unharmed during the incident. The police have already launched an investigation, reviewing CCTV footage from the area around the house to identify the suspect involved. According to initial investigations, police confirmed that only one person attempted the robbery.
The Mumbai Joint Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, confirmed that authorities took Saif Ali Khan to Lilavati Hospital for treatment and provided additional details.
Saif Ali Khan, son of renowned actress Sharmila Tagore and cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, has been a prominent figure in Bollywood for decades. His acting career began with the 1993 film Parampara, and he has since starred in numerous successful films, including Dil Chahta Hai, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Hum Tum, Race, Tanhaji, and more. He last appeared in Devara: Part 1, starring alongside Janhvi Kapoor and NTR Jr.
The investigation continues as authorities work to track down the individual responsible for the attack on the actor.
