Since its grand release on February 23, the political-action drama “Article 370” has been making significant strides at the box office. According to Sacnilk.com, the film has garnered an impressive ₹23 crore in India within just three days of its release.

On its opening day, the film raked in ₹5.9 crore, followed by a commendable ₹7.4 crore on the second day. Continuing its impressive streak, the film added ₹9.50 crore on its third day, as per early estimates, bringing its total collection in India to a staggering ₹22.8 crore.

“Article 370” delves into the themes of terrorism and corruption prevalent in the region of Jammu and Kashmir. Yami Gautam takes on the lead role, portraying an intelligence officer tasked with combating these pressing issues. The trailer of the film provided a glimpse into the escalating tensions in Kashmir, with radical elements vying for control. Yami’s character, aligned with the NIA, embarks on a crucial mission in the troubled region. The government’s determination to abolish Article 370 serves as a central plot point, driving the narrative forward.

In addition to Yami Gautam’s stellar performance, the film features a talented ensemble cast including Priyamani, Arun Govil, and Kiran Karmarkar. Backed by Jio Studios and Aditya Dhar’s banner B62 Studios, “Article 370” promises a gripping cinematic experience, drawing inspiration from real-life events that have shaped the destiny of Kashmir.

Significance of Article 370

The revocation of Article 370 by the Central government on August 5, 2019, marked a pivotal moment in the history of Jammu and Kashmir. This constitutional amendment, which granted special status to the erstwhile state, was nullified, leading to the bifurcation of the region into the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

Wide Theatrical Release

The film’s distribution strategy has been meticulous, with major multiplexes and single screens strategically chosen to maximize its reach. As per reports from multiplex chains PVR and INOX Pictures, “Article 370” is currently being showcased in 1,509 theaters across the country, with plans to expand to additional venues over the weekend.

With its compelling storyline, powerhouse performances, and timely subject matter, “Article 370” continues to captivate audiences nationwide, solidifying its position as a notable box office success.
