Annu Kapoor Reveals What Drew Him To Comedy Film ‘Uttar Da Puttar’

Veteran actor Annu Kapoor has opened up about what attracted him to the forthcoming comedy film ‘Uttar Da Puttar’.

The acclaimed actor said the film’s relatable storyline and heartfelt message immediately resonated with him.

Speaking exclusively to IANS, Annu Kapoor explained that the narrative explores a common human tendency to search for answers beyond oneself. He noted that the film presents this universal theme through humour while retaining emotional warmth and depth.

“Uttar Da Puttar is a very interesting and relatable story. We all look for answers somewhere outside ourselves at some point in life. What I liked about the film is that it talks about this idea with humour and heart. I had a wonderful time being part of it,” stated Annu Kapoor.

The makers, however, unveiled the film’s teaser on Friday through social media.

Sharing the preview, they wrote, “What if choosing the wrong direction could change everything? A Hindi Bollywood comedy built around a subject you’ve never seen on the big screen before, and it’s time for films where content is king. Official teaser out now. The search for the right direction begins in cinemas on 24th July. Trailer to be out soon!”

The teaser introduces the film’s unusual premise, revolving around the belief that a person’s fortune can transform simply by choosing the correct direction.

Producer Sandiip Kapur said the story emerges from experiences many people can relate to. He explained that individuals often seek answers through signs and external influences, and the film entertainingly explores this idea.

The comedy features an ensemble cast including Annu Kapoor, Rukhsar Rehman, Brijendra Kala, Pavan Malhotra, Ishtiyak Khan, Jeeveshu Ahluwalia, Rajendra Sethi, Sumit Gulati and Nitin Arora.

Directed by Ravinder Siwach, the film is produced by Sandiip Kapur and Priya Kapur under the banner of Promodome Motion Pictures.

‘Uttar Da Puttar’ will release in cinemas worldwide on July 24, 2026.
