Angry Young Men Trailer: Salman Khan’s Bold Spin On The Iconic ‘Mere Paas Maa Hai’ Dialogue!

Salman Khan brought an electrifying atmosphere to the trailer launch event of the docu-series Angry Young Men, celebrating the legendary screenwriting duo Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar. The iconic writers were accompanied on stage by their children, Salman Khan, Farhan Akhtar, and Zoya Akhtar. In a light-hearted moment, Salman Khan added his own twist to one of the duo’s famous dialogues, saying, “Mere paas maa hain (I have mothers),” and playfully continued, “Aur voh bhi do (And I have two).” The quip drew smiles from Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar, and laughter echoed through the audience.

Salman, the eldest son of Salim Khan and his first wife, Salma Khan, shares a close bond with his father, who later married Helen.

During the event, Javed Akhtar reminisced about Salman Khan’s childhood, showering him with praise. He recalled his first visit to Salim Khan’s Bandra home, where Salman, not even a year old, already showed signs of his future charisma. “He looks so handsome now, but it didn’t happen overnight. Woh bachpan se hi khoobsurat the (He was a beautiful child). He was exceptionally good-looking,” Akhtar said. He mentioned a small black-and-white photograph of Salman that used to hang in Salim Khan’s living room, though he wasn’t sure if it was still there. He added that all the other Khan children were born under his watchful eye.

Javed Akhtar also shared an amusing anecdote about Salman’s reserved nature as a child. “It’s interesting to see Salman as the ‘He Man,’ the ‘dashing hero’ today, because as a child, he was very shy—bohot hi kam bolne wala, bohot hi chupp chaap rehne wala bacchha (a reserved and soft-spoken child). He would quietly sit in a corner,” he recalled. Turning to Arbaaz Khan, who was in the audience, Akhtar noted, “Arbaaz was the badmaash bacchha (the notorious one).”

Angry Young Men is a collaboration between Salman Khan Films, Excel Media and Entertainment, and Tiger Baby, produced by Salman Khan, Salma Khan, Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, and Reema Kagti. Directed by Namrata Rao, the docu-series is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on August 20.
