Akshay Kumar Responds To Allegations That He Supports The BJP Through His Films, Says “Us Waqt Congress Ka Raaj Tha When I Made Airlift”

Akshay Kumar denies utilizing the platform of his films to endorse any political party. In contrast to the action and comedy films he produced in the 1990s and 2000s, the actor has spent the last few years devoting his time to producing socially conscious films that tackle humanitarian concerns.

Titles like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Mission Mangal have drawn criticism from some quarters for serving as advertisements for the Swachh Bharat and Mars Mission programs of the governing BJP administration. However, in a conversation with India Today, Akshay referred to his earlier films.

Avoid endorsing any political group

Many times, individuals claim that they promoted the Swachh Bharat Mission while I produced Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. I created Mission Mangal when they were on a Mars mission. Maine Airlift bhi banai, us waqt Congress ka raaj thi, aisa nahi hai. Nobody discussed that. Even Mission Raniganj takes place during the reign of Congress. It is about the vastness, goodness, and events that occurred. It makes no difference who was in charge. What was accomplished for the benefit of the nation is what counts.

Relating India to Canada

Akshay also discussed the deteriorating ties between India and Canada. “I am a pretty upbeat individual. I sincerely hope and pray that everything works itself out and returns to normal. I don’t want to focus on the bad things that have happened; instead, I want to focus on the bright side and hope that things improve,” he remarked. He continued by saying that he concurs with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s choice of strategy for dealing with Canada.
