Aamir Khan’s daughter, Ira Khan, has been actively advocating for mental health awareness and sharing her own struggles with depression. She is the founder and CEO of a not-for-profit organization dedicated to making mental well-being more accessible. Recently, she and her superstar father, Aamir Khan, released a video on Instagram to break the taboo around mental health.
In the video, Aamir Khan emphasized the importance of seeking help from experts when facing challenges in life, highlighting that there’s no shame in doing so. He said, “There are many things in life that we cannot handle on our own, and for such tasks, we seek help from individuals who are knowledgeable in those areas. We make these decisions without guilt or hesitation.”
Ira Khan added to this by saying, “When we need mental or emotional assistance, we should approach someone who can help us without hesitation, someone who is trained and professional.”
Aamir Khan revealed that both he and Ira have been attending therapy sessions for several years, underscoring the value of seeking professional help for mental well-being. He encouraged others facing emotional stress, tension, or difficulties to reach out to trained professionals without feeling ashamed.
The joint post shared by Ira Khan and Aamir Khan Productions included the hashtag “#Imhuman,” emphasizing the shared human experience of facing mental health challenges.
Salman Khan also praised Ira Khan’s initiative to raise awareness about mental health. He shared a photo on Instagram Stories, commending her for her strength and understanding.
Ira Khan established the Agastu Foundation in 2021, dedicated to addressing mental health issues. She is the daughter of Aamir Khan and his first wife, Reena Dutta. This initiative stands as a testament to the growing awareness and acceptance of mental health concerns in society.
