According to an announcement by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, WhatsApp has reached 100 million users in the United States.
This marks the first time Meta has disclosed specific user figures for WhatsApp in the US.
Meta’s latest update reveals that over 50% of WhatsApp’s American users are iPhone owners.
This demographic detail highlights the app’s strong presence within the Apple ecosystem.
Globally, WhatsApp continues to expand its reach, boasting over 2 billion users.
In India alone, the platform has an impressive base of more than 500 million monthly active users, demonstrating its significant impact in the region.
Recently, WhatsApp has introduced a new feature aimed at enhancing user safety in group messaging.
The feature, which is being rolled out progressively, provides users with detailed insights into group dynamics, including information on who added them, the creation date of the group, and the group creator.
This transparency allows users to make informed decisions about their participation and access safety tools to secure their experience.
Additionally, WhatsApp is reportedly working on several new features to further enrich the user experience.
One such feature is the introduction of a communities tab for iPad users, aimed at streamlining group management and communication.
The platform is also developing an in-app dialer feature, which will enable users to make calls directly from the WhatsApp application, enhancing convenience and integration.
